Well hey there!

Okay, okay. First let’s address the elephant in the room. Yes, it’s been like 200 days since I’ve posted anything. What can I say?  Life, work, kids, etc, got a little away from me. But I’m going to try and get back to things.

So what’s happened?  Hmmm. We had Halloween, thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter, Spring Break and are in the midst of summer!

I promise to do better going forward!

Hydrafacial

I got an email a few weeks ago that I had won an online contest that my dermatologist’s office held. I won a free hydrafacial!  What’s a hydrafacial?  Well,  it’s the only hydradermabrasion procedure that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection simultaneously, resulting in clearer, more beautiful skin with no discomfort or downtime. The treatment is soothing, moisturizing, non-invasive and non-irritating.

Looks like this

Nothing hurts at all (or was even uncomfortable). It just feels like water and suction being applied to your face.  It was quick too!  Only took about 30 minutes.  And I will say my skin looked so fresh and clean after it. Definitely something to do a few times a year!

Not a drop of makeup!  πŸ‘† That’s pure hydrafacial glow!!

What I’m loving

🚨New favorite product alert🚨

Have you guys heard of Lumify eye drops??

I’m loving these eye drops!  They make your eyes look amazing!  Not just whiter but brighter and clear. And somehow they even make the color of your eyes seem more rich. This momma needs all the help she can get looking rested and these have definitely become part of my beauty routine in the mornings.

First week down..

Well it has been an insanely busy week!  The girls started back to school Monday (yay!!). Don’t get me wrong. I do like the summer but I’m ready to have my schedule and routine back.  This is the first year having both girls in the same school and so far so good!

We live really close to the school and I had been excited about maybe walking to school on some nice mornings. But after the first day back I noticed there were no crossing guards on a very busy intersection. I was really nervous that someone was going to get run over. So after lots of frustrating phone calls my neighbors and I called the news. They ran our story that night!  And eureka!!  The next day, 2 crossing guards!

That’s right. I’m Ashley Bradley, concerned parent. 😜

We had an end of the week ice cream party in our neighborhood, which I couldn’t make because of work but luckily my sweet nanny took the girls. We have had so many young kids moving into our area so it’s really great to get them all together.

Then that night I helped host a 3rd grade back to school party from last years school auction. We held it at a local dance club that does a night that’s kids only. I think it went great and the kids (and parents) all had fun!

So after all of that I was ready for a mom’s only night out on Saturday. We had a yummy kid free dinner, good wine and uninterrupted conversation. What a treat!!

Hope everyone had a great week too!

Hardest decision ever!

Seriously!  What would you choose???  I could easily lose the pajamas (I’m a nightgown girl) and I could probably lose the chocolate, leggings, tea (I’m assuming hot not iced). But the rest?  No way!

A little work trip with a side of vacay...

I had to go to San Antonio for a work trip I go on every summer. It was for the annual Texas Transplantation Society Conference. It’s held in a different Texas city every year so we always try and piggy back a trip with the girls after it’s over. I doubt anyone wants to hear about the conference (although I will say the speaker from Mayo who talked about face transplants was amazing!!).

Anyways, after the conference was over Brett and the girls came down to spend a couple of days. We went to the JW Marriott, because we had already been there before and knew it would be a fun & easy few days.  Check in was a bit crazy (they said 800 people checked out and 800 more checked in all in the same day) but we got our room pretty quickly and the girls wanted to go straight to the water park.

View from our room over looking the water park.

We had plans to go do some other things in town but the girls never wanted to leave the hotel!  Which was actually kind of nice. So we just played in the water and I went on about 700 rides. Avery wanted me to go on the scary ones with her (which meant a 6 story climb every time) and Hayden wanted me to ride the tubes with her (which was a 4 story climb with a tube on my back). I was worn out!  But we had a great time!

The last night we did s’mores and it was the perfect end to a great trip. They are already asking when we can go back!

Pine Cove Camp

My oldest child just went to her first ever sleep away camp. She had such a great time!  I was very nervous that she would get homesick and want to come home but she didn’t.  I definitely think it helped that she had other kids from her school there with her too.

But what a production it was getting everything ready!!  First there was a trunk (because you can’t just have any old trunk)!  I found a website called Everything Summer Camp and was able to get a really cute pink & purple trunk. Then I had someone local make vinyl stickers of her name and decorations. I think it turned out very cute and Avery was happy to be a part of it by putting on the stickers herself (it was hard for me to let go of that but I did).

Then we had to fill that sucker!  Theme nights, clothes, shoes, etc. All in different baggies to help keep organized (for someone who loves organizing it would be a dream- but that is not me!).  We had to have care packages done, letters written, everything done before we left for camp. And of course I had to work ALL day the Saturday before so I had to have everything done a week ahead of time. But I did it!

We caravanned down with some friends and got in the giant line for drop off.

We got her bunk set up and then it was time to leave. She was so brave and there wasn’t a single tear (not even from me!).

Poor Hayden was SO sad the whole way home. She really missed her Sissy. 😒

I was very anxious to see pictures and get a letter (all of which come via the Pine Cove app).  It was definitely a sense of relief to see the pictures and her letters were sweet.

She looked so hot & tired in all the pictures. It’s been about 110 degrees here in Texas so I don’t know how they did it???

A week went by and my house seemed so quiet. Why does 1 less kids make such a difference???

Pick up day came and I was so happy to see her!!!  Her counselor said really sweet things about her and she had such a great week!

On the ride home she was pretty quiet but said she loved it. And then the poor thing had to come home and play in her last basketball game of the season. She was dead. I made her take a super long shower and I started what seemed like 6000 loads of laundry. She requested sushi for dinner so we ordered in and then she crashed!!  She said her bed never felt so good!  All in all she had a great time and is already looking forward to next year. And I think I see a light at the end of the laundry tunnel! 😜

Summer rut...

So I’m not the only one who camouflages day old hair with dry shampoo & curls right???

That’s a pretty cute photo bomb right there! ☝️ πŸ˜‚

Yacht Rock

Can we discuss my summer jam for a moment?

Yacht Rock!  I love this station during the summer. I feel like I’m back in the wood paneled station wagon from my childhood.  It is easy listening at its finest and if I can’t be on a yacht for the summer then at least maybe this can help me to pretend I am! πŸ›₯

Amber’s surprise party

We went to Ft Worth Friday night to celebrate our friend Amber’s 40th birthday. Her husband is one of the founders of TX Whiskey and they held it at Whiskey Ranch which is one of the distilleries they own. It was so awesome!  If you get a chance to go and take a tour, I highly recommend it. It was amazing!

But the real reason we were there was to celebrate our sweet Amber finally joining the 40’s club with us.  It was a surprise and Troy truly pulled it off!

She had no clue! We had the best time!  The food was delicious, the cakes were amazing and we danced our behinds off (broken foot can’t keep this girl down 😜).

(The M’s minus Amy)

Brett and I had fun with the photo booth πŸ˜‚

All in all it was a perfect evening celebrating one of my favorite people! ❤️
