Valentine’s Day

We had a good Valentine’s Day here. I had ordered some “decorate your own cookies” for the girls and they had a great time doing them.

Other than that it was a usual crazy busy day. Avery’s class did a 50’s themed sock hope so she got to dress up in a poodle skirt and I think she looked really cute.

And Hayden got a cute new heart themed dress to wear to school.

We had basketball practice that night and so I dialed it in for dinner and ordered the heart shaped pizzas from Papa John’s. Which we scarfed down before I could get a picture. Hope you all had a nice Valentine’s Day!

Wood working women....

A few weeks ago I got together with my sweet MOPS friends. We all met when we were pregnant and have remained friends to this day. It’s hard to get together that often since we are all over the place with kids, schools, and living all over Dallas. So we decided to do a get together at Texas Wine & Wood. At first I was more in for the wine and just seeing my friends. I am NOT what you would call a crafty girl. And honestly the farmhouse style of decorating isn’t really my personal aesthetic. So in reviewing what they offer I decided to make a cute sign for the girl’s playroom. They really walk you through the process step by step (seriously I’m not good at this stuff and I could still do it).  Here are some of our “action shots”.

And my final product.  I was proud and thought it turned out really cute!

School Auction

We had our annual school auction this weekend. The theme was “Boardwalk Empire” which if you didn’t watch the show, is set in Atlantic City in the 1920’s. I was pretty pleased with how our costumes turned out.  And yes, Brett is wearing half a mask. You have to watch the show to get it!

Anyway, we had a great time and ended up with some good stuff. We got a trip to New Orleans, an overnight in Dallas package which includes babysitting by teachers, and some fun sign and go parties. Besides, it’s all for the kids!!

The crud....

Our house was hit by the flu. Luckily it was only Brett that got it (knock on wood). Poor guy has been banished to the guest bedroom since Saturday. I make him wear a surgical mask when he leaves them room and he has to wash his hands with hibiclens. Crazy??  Perhaps. But so far the flu has been limited to him. I have sprayed Lysol on every surface of my home and wiped everything we own with Clorox.  Seriously. This better end here!!!
